Filmwala is Pakistan’s first independent production house which has gained a formidable reputation through its Blockbusters Award-winning films. HIts debut film Na Maloom Afraad (2014) generated immense box office success which paved the path for other independent production houses to open up in Pakistan. Since then, Filmwala has continued to produce several blockbuster hits such as Actor in Law (2016) & Load Wedding (2018) & The Most Anticipated Upcoming Film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. Their mission is to produce films that engage the audience with social issues while simultaneously entertaining them. Not only has this zestful combination resulted in box office hits, but has also generated positive dialogue within society. The social issues they highlight range from electricity shortage to eve-teasing. In their last film Load Wedding (2018), They touch upon the topic of the dowry system, the film gained so much attention that within five months of release, even organizations like the UN Women Pakistan began a campaign against Dowry in Pakistan & Govt of Pakistan has passed the bill to ban dowry. Filmwala continues to push the envelope by producing projects that prove that film is an ideal catalyst for change.
Nabeel Qureshi is an award-winning Pakistani Film Director and screenwriter who is best known for making movies that tackle socio economic issues in a thought provoking yet light hearted manner.
